Gen.G fumbled against Global Esports (0-2) last week, effectively losing the Valorant Champions Tour title race against DRX, who beat Gen.G (2-1) a week prior. But regardless of that slip-up, Gen.G remain one of the league’s strongest teams, which explains why they’re priced as heavy favourites to take down Talon Esports on Saturday.
Talon Esports enter Week 7 of the VCT 2023 Pacific League with a 1-5 record and a 4-10 round differential. They’ve won just one series this season but have been playing well recently. Following a hard-fought 2-0 win against ZETA DIVISION in Week 5, Talon Esports also took a map from Paper Rex (1-2) last week.
However, although Talon Esports have improved, it’s hard to justify backing them to win on Saturday. Gen.G haven’t played as well as expected in their last two outings, but they’re still vastly superior to Talon Esports.

ZETA DIVISION and Paper Rex are tied at 4-2 after six weeks of play and will now clash in a very important match that could decide which of the two squads will remain in the race for a top-two finish.
ZETA DIVISION have been a bit inconsistent with their performance so far, and their loss against Talon Esports (0-2) in Week 5 raises some questions. However, besides that defeat, they have been playing solid Valorant and have secured a few impressive wins against Rex Regum Qeon (2-1), Global Esports (2-1), and Team Secret (2-1).
Paper Rex are 2-1 in their last three outings, with one loss against DRX (0-2) and two wins against Global Esports (2-1) and Talon Esports (2-1). Those results aren’t too impressive, but Paper Rex are still one of the most stacked rosters in the league – which explains the odds for this match.
Paper Rex definitely have a higher ceiling, but this hasn’t helped them accomplish much this season, and they arguably shouldn’t be priced as such big favourites. Although there’s always a threat of Paper Rex waking up and crushing ZETA DIVISION, the Japanese squad are playing better Valorant and are worth a bet at the prices on offer with the top esports betting sites.
